We did it!  Here are the details of our first meal:

We held it on September 29th at the Whistler Mountain Ski Club at 2028 Rob Boyd Way in Creekside.

Service started at 6pm (yes! we were really ready on time) and was on a first come, first served basis.  We served 60 delicious hot meals, that were lovingly made (and eaten) by our 22 volunteers, who ticked up over 100 volunteer hours.

The menu was pasta with a red sauce (prepared by Whistler Cooks), roast vegetables, chicken or soy curls for the protein and bread.  GF and Vegan options were provided.

A sweet treat and hold/cold drinks were available.

Meals were free of charge to those who need it, with a suggested $10 donation to those who can.

The whole event (including overheads) would have cost us around $3,000, but with the generous community contributions from the following, it only cost half that:
  1. Whistler Mountain Ski Club
  2. Whistler Cooks
  3. Slope Side Supply
  4. Delish/The Grocery Store
  5. Whistler Personnel Services
  6. Purebread
  7. Blendz
  8. Mother Made
We also received $418 in donations, which means we came very close to our budget of $1,000 per evening ($10 per meal), so we are on track to achieving our goal of 1,000 meals using the money donated by 100 Women of Whistler.

We sent lots of leftovers home with those at the event, then gave the uncooked food to the WCSS Food Bank, to be portioned and distributed.
