THE LOGO COMPETITION – Winner

Melisse Carron

About the Artist:

I am a 27 years old French artiste freshly arrived in Whistler two months ago. I work for myself (under the name “Méligraphie” in association with another artist) for three years as an illustrator, hand made screen printer and now I am also dedicated to clothing upcycling. (I try to recycle anything, paper, tissue…).  I used to create personalized illustration for private customers, companies and events.  I also have my little collection of clothing upcycled and accessories hand made screen printed.  Currently I have a workspace on the Artist Point Center, preparing my “Canadian Méligraphie Collection” and I hope find nice place and shop to sell my creations and finally make a living from my art and my love recycling art.  I’ve really decided to make art as part of an eco-responsible movement that advocates recycling rather than the new stuff the world no longer needs anymore.

I came to Whistler because my boyfriend is now working as a ski coach with the mountain. So we take this opportunity to live the Canadian experience, and for me learn English.

Your project spoke to me because I think that non-waste in the broadest sense is essential and that this kind of place for sharing can only be beneficial for any spirit.
